adorable faces everywhere

year end trip was spent at Seik Phu Taung Youth Development Centre again. as usual it was AWESOME! met a lot of kids there and had a great time hanging out with them, just chit chatting, enjoying each other company and playing together. it was so good that i teared when it's time to leave. it's hard to say goodbye especially to them.

and i'm happy and surprise that some of the kids remember me even though the last time we met was 1 year ago.

that one week with them was one of the happiest time of my life. they are little angels in my heart, always taking care and looking out for me when i tell them not to. after all im there to serve and not to be served.

i'm so used to have them hanging around me, sticking to me that it feels weird when im back. no one to pull me everywhere they go, no one to entertain me, no one to sing with me, no one to fight for me! hahaha.

was more prepared for this trip after my virgin experience last year. went there with a few cheers, songs, craft work, etc to teach them. and they enjoyed it totally! it warms my heart to see all their eager faces to learn.

i just came out with any random cheers/ songs and they will start singing happily to it. sweet (:

one of my favourite boy and he super love to act shuai! (:and their super adorable BOBO. was still a baby when i met him last year. he grown so much.

i want to spend time with them everyday, to give them love and show them concern that they yearn for, to teach them, etc. there is so much that i wanna do for them but i have my limitations too. i miss them so much that i cant stop thinking about them when i'm back. they are such adorable kids why will their parents abandon them?

can i kidnap the kids back with me?

spending time with them again let me realise the importance of FAMILY. people that we often take them for granted... for one of the kids i chatted with, we happened to talk about his family. and i can see him trying hard to control his tears when sharing. although he told me that he is happy staying here but deep down inside i know he is upset because he is away from his family, his loves one.. yeah, he is a strong boy indeed. something which we should learn, to stay strong, happy, positive no matter how bad the situation is.

i will learn to appreciate my family more and to be thankful that i still have them with me. and you must do it too. :)

this is so true. but how many people can actually achieve it? and often we are stuck in the dilemma of passion or money.

was chatting to one friend and he happened to be complaining about his current job which he feels that it's kinda boring... and so i told him "you only live once. (:"

CNY 2011

received my first ang bao from my ex-resident's mum. (: her daughter was discharged and yet she came down to visit us.

All my residents are in a happy mood because it's CNY and most of them are heading home for CNY. you should see the smiles on their faces when they are going home. how i wish CNY doesnt happen once a year so they will always get to go home.

i pray that more of them will be able to go home during cny because it's hard being left behind.

2011

Goals to achieve for the coming year? Lots to say but whether I will really do it. Hopefully yes... Haha. Not going to list down ALL, but maybe just a few that I feel is important. (:

First on my list- to save more and spend less. Lately before any spending I will ask myself this question "do I really need ? The kids in Myanmar are living a very simple life without all these extra items and yet they are happy." so does it works? Yea often it works when I asked myself this question. But there are times when I gave in to temptation too. So got to try harder for 2011.

Balance work, play, self life- the past 1 year was spent either in office, home or monkeying around with friends/ buddies. Should open up my world to more activities. Must stop the habit of complaining that I'm tired and put off doing things. I should seriously consider signing up for a course, learn a skill (guitar maybe? Saying bout it for a year and again no actions taken!! Bad bad bad!) or even volunteer at the hospice (again something that I have been thinking about for quite awhile, time to send the application.) maybe my driving license? Mum been harping me about this.

Last one, a change of environment. Not going to elaborate much on this but when it's time to go, it's time to go. (: will see how things will be before I'm brave enough to take this step.

Jia you ziqi and make 2011 a memorable one for you after all you are really really really no longer a kid but a 24 years old woman. HA!

Be brave, go out and embrace life.
You don't want to end up regretting the things that you missed out 10 years later.

2010 in a glance

time flies and it's less than 24 hours to 2011.

i'm not sure if 2010 is a good or bad year but anyhow it's coming to an end soon. it's scary how time passes that fast. unknowingly i'm turning 24 next year! like wtf? sometimes i still feels like a kid or the people around me are treating me as one.

kickoff 2010 with one pretty bad news (pray hard that it's getting better, i hope.) and departure of grandma dearest. her sudden departure left us helpless as we didnt manage to give a proper farewell to her. till now i still cant believe that she is gone. it's really not the same anymore and i still miss you all the time. yes things happen and often not within our control. treasure your loves one before it's too late. live each day like your last.

thinking back about what i did in 2010, i guess wearing that mortar board is my biggest achievement for 2010. making my dream into reality. (: contemplating if i should continue my education now but i dont want to go through the torturous days of rushing for assignments and preparing for exam. decisions decisions..

and i got onto the tv screen for the very first time!!! 2 different variety shows and became a 'mini' celebrity among my friends. hahahaha!

and i almost got into a mini mental breakdown! ha! i guess the preparation for anniversary was stressing me out that i feel like crying when it ended. tears of joy yes.

they are good friends i know through work, got closer to them this year and i'm really thankful to them for all the help rendered during this period, always there cracking jokes to make me laugh and not forgetting all the late nights with me at the office when i'm struggling to finish up my stuffs. thank you guosheng, yensiang, manru, boey & wuihou. <3

and i travelled to a few places this year!

January - phuket
June - bali
August - redang
September - Melb/ Perth
December - Myanmar

spent quite a bit on travelling. visited 3 different beaches this year, yes that's how much i heart beach holiday. maldives one day i will be there, wait for me.

so what's my travel plan for next year? i need more $$ please.

i think that briefly sum up my 2010, with nothing achieved but just endless heartaches. so what's next for 2011?

i have a few plans in mind for 2011 but im not sure when i should do it or should i even think about it? if only i can be more daring and brave.... we shall see..
