bought these 4 plain looking very normal but not normal pens for 10 bucks. expensive? yes. it's very expensive. but i never regret spending money on these.
while walking to the station, i was stopped by 2 gentleman. my usual reaction, shake my head, smile politely at them and told them im not interested and start to walk away. amazingly.. i didnt do that. okay wait. not because they are handsome that's why i decided to stay... what caught my attention was their apperances.. the things that they are holding in their hands. pens. yes. normal plain looking pen. anyway i did tried walking away but they "refused" to let me pass. and when i heard them saying "we are ex convict ... this is part of our program.. every pen we sell we earn commission from... blah blaah blaaah.." i stopped. cut short his story and asked him straight how much he selling for those pens and bought it from him immediately. i asked them if it's okay if i bought 4 pens from you but take 1 pen instead as i dont need that many pen? and immediately they rejected me saying "no you must take it. we cannot do this. please take all 4 pens instead. thank you for helping us and god bless you. :)" im damn surprise by his reaction when i told him that. and his appreciative look when i bought those pens from them.. oh man.. it must be really hard standing there trying to sell your product but nobody actually stop to bother about you...
normally whenever anyone tried selling me "charity" tickets or so called charity stuff, i will reject and walk away immediately. but this time round.. i didnt do that. instead i bought it. i admire their bravery..courage.. admitting that they are ex convict to strangers... do not care about how others perceive them.. trying and working very hard to sell their product.. they are just trying to earn a living like us.
i guess it's time for us to give them a chance and include them back in our society. after all everyone of us deserve a second chance. right?
if 10 dollars can help them.. why not?
and i strongly believe it is money well spent. :)
